Annual Review 2026 - Built Environment

On July 17, 2026, Ireland's Climate Change Advisory Council published its 'Annual Review 2026: Built Environment'. The publication assesses Ireland’s progress in decarbonising the built environment (residential, commercial and public buildings) against its sectoral emissions ceilings (SECs) and Climate Action Plan (CAP) targets. Its key recommendations are to continue reducing fossil fuel dependency, accelerating low-carbon heating and retrofitting, and enhancing building resilience.
